Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have sparked rumors of a potential rekindled romance after they were seen sharing a kiss at the Coachella Music Festival. The former couple, who announced their split in November 2021, were spotted cozying up to each other during a performance on Friday night, as shown in a video shared on Twitter by a Mendes fan account.
In the clip, the two can be seen wrapped around each other with Mendes leaning down to give Cabello a lingering kiss. Another video posted on Twitter by radio station 102.7 KIIS FM showed the Canada native and the “Cinderella” star chatting in a crowded area while holding drinks.
Cabello wore a white bustier top paired with low-rise denim cargo pants, while Mendes sported a graphic t-shirt with beige pants and a bandana around his neck. According to an eyewitness, the former couple arrived together in a group after 6 p.m. and stayed close throughout the night, flanked by bodyguards.
“They were in a VIP table, trying to stay out of sight,” the source told Us Weekly. “They weren’t holding hands, but stayed together all night.” The insider added that Mendes had his arm around Cabello’s waist as they walked to the stage to watch Nigerian rapper Burna Boy’s performance.
“Camila was nuzzling her face into Shawn’s shoulders and they looked like a couple,” the source shared. “They also kissed and were making out during Burna Boy’s final song.”
Mendes and Cabello first met in 2014 and were friends for years before they began dating in July 2019. They confirmed their relationship in September of that year after giving a steamy performance of their chart-topping duet “Señorita” at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The duo announced their split with a joint statement on their Instagram pages in November 2021. “Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” the statement read. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.”
